Rest Day in Pamplona. Day 4.

May 22, 2016

Shower, rest, shower, getting lost, shower, church, shower, eating, eating, eating... and laundry...

OK, a little lost looking for church
Found the church

Found laundromat, 8 minute walk only took 30 minutes. Eating at the Bodegas Urache. A little upscale at the Plaza de Castillos. Meal for 15.5Eu includes soup or salad, pan (bread), bottle of vino & desert. I got shoulder blade of lamb. I had soup with jamon. mom had warm ensalada with goat cheese roll & duck gizzards.

Postre
Have to walk across plas and check on laundry. Had to go to the lavadora to check on clothes. 2 minutes, then put in the lehorgailua then back to lamb. So far we have not seen any grande hombres y mujers, except a few American Germans. Everyone running, walking, or bicycling. Meal portions are small except "pilgrim" meals. Hemingway ate here if anyone cares. I imagine he ate everywhere.

Kingdom of Navarro vino
Did laundry, met people from the UK. directed us to pilgrim shop. Bought knee brace for Joyce, belly pack for guidebook etc. for quick access. I can carry more there and have a little more room in my pack. found our way home to hotel. Resting once again. Joyce feeling better. Tomorrow is a bit of ascent and drop. Walking 17 km tomorrow.

My soft tips covering the carbide tips on my trek pole were used and wore through. Joyce was missing one. Got those replaced at pilgrims store with one to spare. Have everything packed and ready for an early start tomorrow. Going to take 4th shower/bath just because we can. Expensive day today, but we have reserved beds in the Camino del Perdon in Uterga for only 10 EU/bed.

We are ready to roll tomorrow. Joyce got knee brace, I bought belly pack. Everything packed and ready to roll tomorrow morning.

Watching soccer in cafe. These guys really sustain serious injuries until the yellow card with magic healing powers comes out enabling them to get up and sprint away. The card works especially well on seriously bad knee and ankle injuries. Maybe I should get one of those for mom.

We fell asleep early but woke up before dawn. It is 20:26. Joyce wants me to find a pizzeria but I am not getting lost again. Think we will go back to the panaderia again.

Traveling tip: if you're traveling companion has the window open and its 52 degrees outside, the bathroom hair dryer offers a quick "warm me up" before dressing to go out.

View from our window in Pamplona. Enjoy!
