Made it to Estella at 13:45. Started with a 2.km (1.4 miles) catchup then walked the guidebook suggested route of 21.8 km (13.5 miles) total of about 14.9 miles. Staying in the municipal alberque at 6 EU each. Joyce doesn't want to cook again tonight so will find a peregrino (pilgrim) menu (menu). The dorm has a lot of French tonight. We have a little private area with doors and a wall liek an office.
3rd night in an alberque. Last night in old hostel in a two bed room and two nights in nice city hotel. Have cooked, eaten pilgrim meals with groups and tried different things including the fancy restaurant in Pamplona. Each day different with different budgets. We will probably spend 30Eu each today for food drinks and lodging. I think one day in Pamplona was more like 100Eu ($113) after buying knee braces belly pack etc and fancy stuff.
113.7km (70.5 miles) down. Only 686 km (425.5 miles to go! 14% distance done. 5 of 31 planned walking days or 16.1% of days!
Chrystal we are walking around again for something to eat at 3:27 before resting. We will go out for larger meal later.
It's kind of funny, we did the most mileage on the miserable first day climbing then descending the Pyrennes. Can't remember if I wrote about the emergency refuge on top of the mountain. The first 1/3 was incredibly steep the just steep (easiest part) but near the top there were heavy winds 20-35 mi/hr, we were digging out clothes/gloves etc. they had an emergency refuge built because Emilio and others has died up there. It had a fire burning when we went in. Talked to others who went a day later and they said it was beautiful.
We talked to a guy from Washington who has done this once before. He said he watched a guy drop dead at Orisson just 7 km into the steepest part. Probably American.
This is called Estella la Bella, we have not found the Bella part. Seems every street is an alley but when you pas there are stores, restaurants etc, unless they are locked for siesta. Everything will change at 17:00.

 |
| Bridges are crazy. Do they think a sailboat can go down this stream? |
 |
| Every single little town has abundant recycling bins and most lights are on sensors |
 |
| Another Catholic church in Estella |
